Introduction
The individual project is regarded as an important element of the specialist degree. It provides students in their final year with a challenge to identify and undertake an original and detailed study and present a major piece of relevant work to a critical and informed audience. It aims to develop the student’s power to work independently, researching in depth a topic of their choice, using relevant concepts and techniques. In this initial project report stage you need to conduct preliminary study based on your approved project proposal. This will be in the form of a literature review which shows any conflict of evidence or opinion in previous works, or the lack of specific data or opinion. Your study will fill the gap between your objectives and the literature. Any work that you intend to carry out as part of your project must be justified, in engineering terms, and the anticipated benefits calculated before carrying out the work

- Critically evaluate current practices, methods, and research and select relevant alternatives within the scope of the subject area of the course of the study.
