you have joined the Senior Management Group of a parish community in the city. The new Pastor wishes to work with this Group and the wider community and he wishes to move forward by engaging with and meeting the needs of parishioners on their faith journey and addressing any concerns. This must also take account of the social and economic dimension of the community that the church serves, other wider external factors and the financial situation in the parish itself.
In creating a strategy and planning for the future the parish must work within the resources it has currently available, unless they can be increased as part of the strategy. You wish to support these objectives and you are keen to play your part in creating a vision for the next phase of church development and bringing this to a reality.
The Pastor understands the key role that leadership and management will play in achieving these objectives and this was discussed at the Group’s first meeting. You also realise that your contribution to the Group will help with your personal development.
In completing the tasks provided you must Task 1 You have been given a task to prepare materials for a meeting.
